Market research results which measure the listenership of KCLR 96fm show that the stations listenership has continued to grow.
The station which broadcasts to Carlow Kilkenny has recorded significant growth in both its daily listenership and in the key “Average Quarter Hour” figure.
The independent research which is carried out by TNS MRBI covers the period April 2007 to the end of March 2008. It shows that in this period an extra 1,000 listeners tune to the station every day giving it a “Listened Yesterday” figure of 45% of the available audience.
This is the highest percentage daily listenership of any station in Leinster and is the 7th highest of any station in the country.
Station Chief Executive John Purcell says he is delighted with the figures.
“Radio is probably the most researched media in the country and in survey after survey since we first went on air we have been proven to be the most popular radio station in Carlow and Kilkenny”
“We’d like to thank our listeners for their continued support and promise them that we will continue to provide them with an unrivalled mix of great music and entertainment as well as local news, sport and special interest programming. For the more than 70,000 people who are tuning into the station every week we feel we are delivering on our promise that KCLR 96fm is “Your life, Your music and Your station.”
The figures are also great news for advertisers and marketers in Carlow and Kilkenny according to John Purcell.
“With over 70,000 listeners every week advertisers and marketers can be sure that KCLR 96fm delivers a cost effective marketing solution that through advertising, sponsorship and promotions delivers great ‘bang for buck’.
“We’d like to thank all our advertisers for their great support,” he said.
