One in ten people is said to have some form of disability making this essential listening for those with physical, emotional, intellectual or mental disabilities and to help the general public bring down barriers. The show enables people in the locality to take part in and influence the decision making process that impacts on their lives and opportunities. Over to You in the Studio is KCLR96fm’s access show for community or voluntary groups or services to present their own show. For an hour each week the local airwaves are handed over to representatives of a different group so that they can outline what it is they do and how they can be accessed. KCLR 96fm staff provides the technical and production experience while the participants provide the show’s content and together we bring a programme that is guaranteed to be unique. The series to date has featured over 100 groups from retired persons to youth, theatre and various cultural organisations, eating disorders, sports and hobbies. It’s a unique opportunity for the community sector and all participants to date have recorded success due to their participation. |
