Friday 15th January
Clara Cairde Club and Day Centre will not open until Tuesday 19th.
St Johns Day Care, Hackettstown will be closed all this week and weather permitting will reopen next Tuesday 19th.
Dr. O'Brien Centre on Dublin Road, Carlow will not re-open until Monday 1st February
Due to the recent low temperatures, the Watershed are restricting access to all outdoor facilities until further notice, that's the Astroturf Pitch, Grass Pitch and Running Track. They're also postponing the re-starting of the Fitness Classes and Monday (Child) and Tuesday (Adult) Swimming Lessons until the week starting Monday 18th

Kilkenny Shooting and Conservation Council wishes to inform all shooting people in Kilkenny that there is a national temporary shooting ban on all quarry species except pheasant untill further notice. K.S.C.C. would like to advise its members to refrain from hunting pheasant untill this cold snap passes.

The OPW and Kilkenny County Council are holding a Public Information Day
at Piltown GAA from 3 to 8 o’clock. The infomation day will be an opportunity for local people to meet members of the project team and discuss the Suir Catchment Flood Risk Assessment
& Management Study being undertaken by the OPW.
Wednesday 20th January
Callan Heritage Society are holding a lecture on Thatching in the Friary, Mill St. Callan on Wednesday 20th of January at 8.00PM. Speaker is the well known Thatcher from Kilkenny, Jimmy Lenehan. This is a lecture everyone even remotely interested in thatching and traditional old Irish houses will enjoy. Please come along.

The Presentation College Carlow Annual Table Quiz takes place on Thursday

Tullow Community School PTM
Due to the adverse weather conditions the 5th year PTM had to be rescheduled. To minimise any further loss of tuition time to pupils it was decided to hold the 5th year and 3rd year PTM together on Friday 22nd January, 2010 between 9.15 a.m. and 1.15 p.m.

SUPPORT GROUP FOR PARENTS & CARERS OF CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL NEEDS will be held at St. Patrick's Parish Centre, Loughboy, Kilkenny (adjacent to the church) from half past 10 to half past 12, and children are welcome to come along.
